The Northside Kids was a dream of two young men who live for the sport of wrestling. Founded in the winter of 2014, the NKWC got its start in the Spring of 2015, and was destined to excel from day one.
The main focus at NKWC, is for student athletes to get an offseason way to work on their wrestling. Have you ever considered Olympic Style wrestling? Freestyle and Greco-Roman have been an extremely popular way to hone wrestling skills for the Winter Folkstyle season for a long time, and many of the best wrestlers in the country choose to participate in these two styles of wrestling to further develop their skills in the sport.

Our mission at NKWC is to explore each wrestler’s individual skills and talents, and to develop their abilities to the highest level possible. Wrestling is like art, and everybody paints differently! This is why we take the time to learn what our kids do best, and then try to capitalize on their God given talents. At the end of the day we hope to develop the best wrestler, student, and young adult that we can!

Meet The Coaches

Coach Anton Kalista, born and raised in Chelyabinsk, Russia, brought his talents to the states to compete for Lakeville North HS in Lakeville, MN.  At Lakeville, Coach Kalista also wrestled for the  world- renowned Minnesota Storm Wrestling Club, led by former Olympic medalist Brandon Pauldson and Dan Chandler. In his time wrestling both Freestyle and Greco for Storm, Coach Kalista was a 5- time state place winner, 3- times Storm Dual team member in both styles.  In those years Coach Kalista would help Storm reach 3 national dual team finals, and helped to obtain 1 national championship at Fargo.

Coach Kalista would travel back to Russia to train at the Russian Olympic Training  Center as a Greco resident, training  with several Olympians  and World team members here in the US.

Coach Kalista began coaching while he was still in high school by running the Lakeville North summer wrestling camps and their pre- season program.  He would later also help coach Lakeville North's and South's individual wrestling standouts to several state championships, and All- American statuses.  After success in Minnesota, Coach Kalista made the move to Atlanta, GA, where he joined the Holy Innocents' coaching staff.
